Where, What to Wear, & Two Requests
All festivities will take place in Merhav, our new home:
636 56th Street, Oakland.
We selected Merhav, the Hebrew word for “expansiveness,” for its sense of an expanse arrived at after having come through a narrow place. With gratitude to you, our beloved community of family and friends, for being with us in both the spacious moments and the constricted ones, we’re delighted to welcome you to Merhav to share with us this momentous day.
We invite you to wear clothes that are festive and comfortable. Most of the celebration will take place outside, as long as the weather remains friendly. So you might consider bringing a warm layer or two, and maybe even sunglasses or a hat. And as the ceremony will take place in our grassy backyard, while you don’t have to wear matching sandals like these two ridiculous brides, stilettoes are not recommended.
Please also note that we kindly ask that your pets & children, cute as they are, remain at home.

Come a little early, enjoy coffee & hors d’oeuvres, celebrate our wedding, and then join us for brunch, toasts, & general merrymaking.
Arrival
11 to 11:30 a.m.
(Please arrive with time to settle in.)
If parking on 56th Street is in short supply, take a look at Dover Street to the west. Carpooling or car services are encouraged.
Arriving at 636, come up the stairs & let yourself in the front door. Once inside, walk down the stairs ahead: drinks & snacks will be in the back.
Other than a few reserved spots at the front, seating is open, so please sit wherever and with whomever you like. We invite you to make new friends!
Ceremony Begins
11:45 a.m.
Kat & Jessica will marry in their cozy backyard. Please be seated a few minutes before the ceremony is set to begin.
Celebratory Libations
12:15ish p.m.
While we transition the space for dining & the brides have their photographs taken, enjoy coffee & mimosas on the patio.
Brunch & Festivities
1, until 4:30 p.m.
Food & libations, toasts & tasty treats, amidst an afternoon of friends new and old. There will be gluten-free & dairy-free options galore. We hope you’ll feel free to plant yourself at a table or perch where the spirit moves you.
Should it fit your dietary requirements, dancing will also be on the menu.
The celebration will wind down by four-thirtyish.
